6 months old and doin fine :)

Carlos turned 6 months old today!!  I can't believe it's been half of a year already!  He'll be one before we know it!  We took him to his well-baby appointment today.  He weighs 16 lbs, 13 oz and is 25 in tall!  I thought he weighed more than that, but he's still around the 50th percentile so he's doing great :)  He had to get 4 shots today though, but he was a trooper.  Luke made me hold him down this time :( (the turd). We get to go back in 4 weeks to get the second part of the flu shot for him.  Luke and I are getting our flu vaccines tomorrow, joy...better to be safe than sorry!

Other Carlos updates include that he is crawling really, really well now; has started to pull himself up on the furniture and cruise around the living room (that we have to box him into ha ha); he sits up all by himself, and has his first teeth coming in on the bottom!  Teething is not the funnest thing to experience so I'm hoping that his pain lessens sooner rather than later so that he can get back to a more pleasant sleep schedule (and so I can get more sleep again).  Let's just say that teething tablets and Tylenol are our best friends at the moment :) Oh, and he has started to really like rice cereal now and likes to "help" us feed him still ha ha.  Now I just need to be better about giving it to him everyday along with trying out new foods like carrots and sweet potatoes.  The doc said that when we introduce a new food to be sure to give it to him every day for a week before trying something else.  That way he gets used to the food faster and tries more new things.  I am also going to try to teach him how to drink from a cup and/or a sippy cup too.  He still won't take a bottle or a pacifier so I won't have to worry about trying to get him to break those habits and get him to take the cup instead.  Anyway, that's all the news I have for now.  Hope everyone is ready for Halloween!!  Carlos is going to be a monkey :)  Can't wait to put him in his costume and take LOTS of pics!!  Have a fantastic rest of the week everyone!
