9 months old!

Has 9 months gone by already???  Seems like only yesterday we were on our way home from the hospital with Carlos in tow... Now he's not only crawling all over the place, he is walking (that's right people, walking) too!!  Where did my little baby go??  He is really into EVERYTHING he can get his hands on now ha ha.  He just loves to keep us on our toes :)  He hasn't figured out how to stand up on his own without using something to pull up on, but I'm sure he'll figure that out soon enough.  The only major issue with him walking already is that his feet are still too fat for most shoes ha ha.  I used to have to keep a pair of grippy socks in his diaper bag all the time so that he could get down and walk around when we weren't at home.  I was able to find a pair of tennis shoes last night at Wal-Mart that fit him!  I had him wear them for a little bit this morning to get used to them and took some pics and a video (which I'll post tomorrow after I get it uploaded).
my cute big boy in his new "kicks"
He has recently (as in the beginning of the month) started eating and enjoying baby food which makes his Mama VERY happy :)  He loves the orange veggies and most fruits so far, but since he broke out in hives around the 4th or 5th so we have been taking it slow in introducing foods to him again.  Speaking of hives I don't ever want to see them on my poor baby again!  They were HUGE!  We had a follow up a couple days later to make sure he was ok (which he was and still is). Here's a couple pics that we took of them on him before we took him to the clinic to get some Benadryl.

still happy, even with hives

He hasn't broken out since the above incident, but we are more aware now of what they look like and I'm monitoring his diet (and mine) better so we can possibly pinpoint the cause faster (we never figured out what caused them).  Thank goodness for Benadryl.

Anyway, here's a pic I took of him after one of our feeding sessions.
Baby Food: good to eat and makes a great hair gel too!
What a ham, huh?  We sure love him!  He also loves taking a bath!  He will stand next to Luke while he is waiting for the tub to fill up and just babble at him until his bath is ready.  Once in the tub he doesn't like to sit down to play.  He would rather stand up the goon ha ha.  His favorite thing to do is dip the toys into the water and then suck on them and then dip them again ha ha.  He sure is a nut!

mm tasty tub toys :)
He is "talking" more and more lately and it is so fun to watch him play and learn.  He says Mama and Dada A LOT now and loves attention from anyone who makes eye contact with him!  He makes the funniest faces and sounds too!  He is definitely a Mama's Boy.  There are pros and cons to this ha ha.  Cons being I can't leave the area without a protest from him unless Luke has thoroughly distracted him or he is in his room taking a nap (and therefore can't see me anyway).  He even gets mad at me for sitting on the couch when he's playing with his toys on the floor, but as soon as I sit on the floor with him he is all happy again the brat!  I still love him though, even if he is a stinker sometimes ha ha.  Especially when he makes faces like the one pictured below at me.
Life would be pretty dull around here without these two turkeys that's for sure ha ha. :D

We had his 9 month check up this afternoon so here are the stats:

Weight: 17 lb. 15 oz (below 5th percentile)
Height: 26 in (between 5th and 10th percentile)
Head Circumference: 45.1 cm (between 25th and 50th percentile)

So to sum up, he's short, kinda chunky (looking) and has an average sized head, but he's still healthy and that's the important thing. :)  Just gotta keep feeding him more baby foods and be better about giving him rice cereal and such.  The doc was surprised that he is walking already (we get that a lot now) and let us know that he is doing good even if he's on the small side.  Short people do great things, too!  It's not like I'm the tallest person ever (and Luke is average height, too).  He'll just take after his Uncle Dusty :)  Luckily, we didn't have to get any shots today so my baby bug is a happy bug and not a grumpy one :D

Any who, hope everyone is having an awesome month so far!  Luke will be turning 27 next Monday so that is our next exciting thing that we are looking forward to.  He doesn't want me to get him anything (no surprise there) so I'm gonna make him dinner and get him some ice cream sandwiches for his "cake" (it's the only dessert that he will eat, that or vanilla ice cream) and call it a success.  Wish he wasn't such a poop about getting gifts from people, but that means we can put that money towards something useful, like new clothes for Carlito... :D

Anyway, gotta go figure out what we are having for dinner tonight. Have a great rest of the week (and month)!  Loves to all!
