We had to take Ernie to the airport last night so I took a couple pics of her and Carlos before we left.
We miss her already! Carlos was up every 2 hrs all night last night (unlike his usual 4-5 hr sleep and then he's up every 1 1/2-2 hrs after that...). I think he misses his cuddle buddy. I'm really glad that Luke is working nights so that when he comes home he can stay up with him while I get some sleep. His office was talking about putting him on 12 hr shifts/7days a week and that was supposed to start tomorrow at midnight, but they called him today and told him that wasn't gonna happen anymore (THANK GOODNESS!!!) so he just has to go in at the normal time. They wanted him to do that shift for 30 days in a row!! That would have been awful for us since he would have been on the midnight to noon shift and that's when Carlos has trouble sleeping the most. Luke's been feeling under the weather the last couple days too, so he was given yesterday and today off (mostly in prep for going on that ridiculous shift), but I think he's doing much better today compared to him having a fever yesterday and all. And did I mention that I'm really really glad the crazy shift isn't happening anymore? Cuz I am. Well, that's all I have for now. I need to go find something to eat for dinner before Carlos wakes up. Later!

No more work! well...sorta ha ha
I turned in my work badge today!!!!! No more crummy shift work hrs, no more missing out on things with Luke on the weekends, no more missing out on sleep and a whole lot more happiness in my life because I won't be so stressed out (because of work and all the other things I just mentioned)!!!
I know that being a Mother isn't a cake walk, but I think the stress that comes with it will be much more worth it than the stress I would get from work. Besides, a little stress is ok. It makes me push myself more when it is a manageable amount. I think being a Mother is going to be the most difficult career I will ever have in my life. At the same time though, it's going to be the most rewarding one too :) And I'll have Luke to help me all along the way. No way would I be able to do this on my own! There are days when I just wish I wasn't pregnant anymore (as in the baby was born already) because of the aches and pains I'm dealing with and the restless sleep that I'm getting. He has been good at comforting me when I'm not feeling so well and need a bit of cheering up. I hope this last trimester goes by quickly and that the labor and delivery does too so I can just hold my little man in my arms! That way he can wiggle all he wants and it won't involve me being kicked/punched/headbutted in the ribs anymore! And I will get to sleep on my tummy again! Well, I need to go now so I will ttyl.

...drumroll please....
I found out last night that I will be switching to the day shift starting our next work set (Monday). I'm feeling mixed emotions about it, but really glad that I'll get to be back on a regular (and more normal) sleep schedule so that's what I will focus on and not the other stuff that makes me wish I wasn't being switched. I will be working with different people too so I will have to adjust to that. I'm glad that my friend was able to switch too so we can keep carpooling together, and I'll have someone to talk to too :]
Anyway, that's my news for the week. We are "lucky" enough to be having a formation bright and early this Saturday morning in our Full Service Dress (the blue uniform aka Blues). This is possibly due to the chance that someone in our Squadron got a DUI and we were warned that the next time that happened that we would have this formation. Now let me just say that the weather has been crappy these last 2 days with winds up to 60mph and rainy and such. Almost everything is closed today (schools, government offices, etc) because of the severity, so if that means anything to you you will know that that is what we might also be dealing with tomorrow. I am so not looking forward to that, but crap happens. And then we volunteered to work at a car wash to raise money for Squadron functions (aka the Holiday party every year). We'll see what the weather does to this plan too...
Anyway, I can't fall asleep (been up since 3pm yesterday) and I blame the 5-6 sips of Redbull that I had at 3 am today...or the fact that I'm cold too and I can never fall asleep when I'm cold. Warming me up takes a while too :/ But yeah, I'm going to go get ready for the day since there is no way I'm gonna fall asleep when I'm this wide awake. I'm sure I'll be taking a nap later.

still waiting...
on what is happening with me and changing shifts. Had a talk with one of my supervisors yesterday and found out somethings that are a bit hard to swallow, but I'm a big girl and I can handle it. Just have to step it up and work harder I guess. Now that I know the reason why they want to switch me though (and I can't really talk about it) I don't think I want to switch for something lame. Because it is lame. But if they want me to I can't complain about it because I'll be getting back on a normal sleep schedule again. Anyway, I guess we will be finding out for sure tonight at work. I'll let you know the outcome tomorrow.

some interesting news..
Yesterday when I got to work one of my supervisors came up to me and pulled me aside. Now the first thing that ran through my head was "Crap! What did I do??" but really, he just wanted to ask me if I would be willing to switch to swings (the day time shift) and I almost cried! But I told him that I carpool with a friend since we live so far away from work so I was torn...she asked if there was a way she could get switched too and he said he would see what he could work out for us. If we get switched I'll be able to function like a normal person again!! and get to see luke too! :] I will let you know what I find out since he said he would let us know today at work...oh the suspense!

Trying to get things together and get our school on!
Yesterday I spent most of the afternoon getting things filled out and ready to mail off for College things. Luke and I are going to be visiting the education office on Hickam sometime in the near future to figure out what we need to do to finish getting our AA from DLI and the CCAF (Community College of the Air Force). I only have to take like 3 more classes for the DLI one and I can take a CLEP test for them too!! I love that we can do things like that! Makes life less stressful when I don't have to do homework or be enrolled in a class for however many weeks. Just study for a couple days, take one test and BAM! 3-6 college credits right in my hand! So yeah, I'm getting pretty excited about this as you might be able to tell :] Then it's on to a BA!...not sure what my Major will be though...hmm...that might take some thinking..
Anyway, just wanted to give a little update into our lives. Luke will be starting Language Class that lasts for 6 weeks starting today. I started working the night shift this month and will be doing this until April....I do NOT like this shift!! I am one grumpy person too lately. Poor Luke has to put up with me too. That is why I am up right now writing this...because I am trying to make the transition easier for me on the nights that I do work. Thank goodness I only work 3 days at a time with a 3 day break inbetween!! I might hurt someone if that weren't the case that is for sure.
Well, thanks for stopping by! I'm going to go find something else to do for the next couple hours before going to bed so see ya later!

Some new stuff
So...lots of things have happened in the last month since I wrote last. We are slowly getting more furniture to make this house of ours more like home. I'm still waiting on my dinning table (I have no clue why it is taking so long...it's been over 2 months since I purchased the thing!!!). We got our couches, a side table, a bookcase, a TV stand and a new bed a couple weeks ago. I also felt like being crafty and made some curtains for our room and the computer room which i will show you (they are way cute if I do say so myself).
I also finally started shift work a week ago. Finally done with training!!! Shift work is alright. I'm not fond of my job, but that's life. I do enjoy working 3 days and then having 3 days off. It's quite nice :]
Well, here are the pictures of our new furniture. Hope you enjoy!
